Walt Disney World Marathon
Jan 12th, 2010 at 10:24am

On Sunday, 1/10/10, one of my sons, one of my daughters, and I ran the Walt Disney World Marathon.  This was a "first" for all three of us.  Waiting about 47 years after I graduated from HHS to do this was probably a bit long to wait.  Still, it was an awesome experience, and it would have been even better if Florida had not experienced record breaking low temperatures -- wind chill temp of about 17 degrees at race start time.

Kudos to you and your children, Joe ... still an impressive accomplishment ... especially in those chilly temps!!  Congratulations! Smiley

Hi Joe

When you say one of your sons and one of your daughters, does that mean you have at least 4 childern?

How have you been my friend.

Our daughter ran it about 10 years ago,and it was the same cold weather.

Barb and i have Florida resident passes,so we are up there a lot.We love their golf courses.

Let me know the next time you come down here.

Dave

Dave:  I have two sons, one daughter, one step-son, and one step-daughter.  But as far as all of us are concerned, there is no distinction between children and step-children -- they are all simply my sons and daughters.  And, I guess I should also acknowledge that among the five of them, they have blessed us with 6 grandchildren (so far).  Three of my grandsons were with us in Walt Disney World, and Grandpa had some trouble keeping up with them Sunday afternoon after the marathon.
I knew you were in FL, but I didn't know you were near Orlando.

My daughter and son-in-law ran the half marathon at WDW on Saturday 1/09/10.  It was 23 degrees and sleeting!  But they finished the race and Kate says she wants to do the half-marathon at Disneyland in September.  She wants the Coast to Coast medal.
