Hi From Howard J. Miller '71
Aug 17th, 2009 at 3:25am

Hell-o.  I went to Roosevelt Elementary School, then one year at HHS.  I would have graduated in 1971 with you, but a tragedy in my immediate family occurred and I abruptly moved to Fayetteville, PA.  I often think about all of you that I left.  I worked at Fred's on Lafayette Ave. near Roosevelt from 1964 to 1968.  I worked the candy counter and cooked those delicious Fred's Hamburgers on Minardi's section bread or Eidelman's poppy-seed roll.  My brother John worked at Etchell's Soda Fountain.  We had the local job market cornered.  I remember 'Randy Smith' (female), I don't know if she is the same Randy that I knew.  I could go on and on about the great memories I have...still have my 'Autograph Book' from 8th grade graduation.  All, please write.  E-mail: XXXXX@hotmail.com

Welcome, Howard.

I had almost forgotten about Etchell's Soda Fountain. As I recall, there was an auto lot near there with the latest Chevvies.

You're probably thinking of Hawthorne Chevy...I believe it's still there.

Who could forget Etchell's?  My mom would always get the coca cola syrup for us when we had a stomach flu.  But the ice cream sodas in the metal containers were the "cat's meow"..........

HI....Howard

Wecome to this site.  Etchell's brings a lot of memories to the surface since my late brother, Ray and I lived around the corner from the store.  We frequently visited that soda store, as well as Osur's which was a mini grocery store across the street from them. I remember Mr. Etchell' and his daughter, Sandy.

Enjoy the site..

Howard, I know you said you were only @ HHS for one year, but do you recall Bob Grunwald in your class?
